Consider a resolution approving the final expense amount as it relates to the Interlocal Agreement with Tarrant County for the rehabilitation of Bear Creek Parkway from Whitley Road to Rufe Snow Drive, and Springbranch Drive from Oak Valley Drive to Cul de Sac, originally approved on February 20, 2024, for the Public Works Department; in the amount of $765,064.24.
Action Requested:
Approve the final expense amount for the street rehabilitation efforts on Bear Creek Parkway and Springbranch Drive in the amount of $765,064.24.
Background:
At the meeting on February 20, 2024, the City Council approved an interlocal agreement with Tarrant County Precinct 3 to rehabilitate Bear Creek Parkway and Springbranch Drive in the estimated amount of $704,622.78. The costs were estimated based on a site survey of the two locations as well as contracted pricing already identified between the county and various vendors.
As part of this partnership, Precinct 3 of Tarrant County agrees to provide the labor and equipment necessary for this work. The City of Keller in turn agrees to cover actual costs of material removal, base preparation, new material, traffic control and ½ of the fuel required.
During the course of rehabilitation efforts, additional work to stabilize the road base was required as well as modifications to the original scope which included an enhanced pavement marking effort for Bear Creek Parkway, as discussed at the City Council meeting on July 16, 2024. As a result, the costs for the project finalized at $765,064.24, or a $60,441.46 difference from the original estimated project amount.
