Body

 

Background:

On May 4, 2021, the City Council approved an SUP for Goody Goody Liquor store with the following conditions:

 

1. The western elevation to be 100% brick.

2. The “Beer, Wine, Liquor” sign to be removed.

3. The “Goody Goody” sign is the only sign to be permitted and must be located above the doors.

 

On September 7, 2021, the City Council approved the site plan with three variances associated with lot constraints. The three conditions for the SUP were also included in the resolution approving the site plan.

 

Site Plan Amendment Request:

The purpose of this item is to amend the Site Plan to show the - signs located above the north and east entrances will include  the corrected logo and verbiage of ‘wine beer liquor.’ The applicant has also requested to amend the SUP for the same reason, which is on the agenda as a separate item. See Staff Attachment - Application and narrative.

Citizen Input:

A Site Plan Amendment even with variances, does not require a public hearing, so no public hearing notifications were sent out to the surrounding property owners for this request. The public will have an opportunity to speak on this agenda item at the “Persons To Be Heard”.

 

Alternatives:

The Planning and Zoning Commission has the following options when considering a Site Plan Amendment:

 

§                     Recommend approval as submitted.

§                     Recommend approval with modified or additional condition(s).

§                     Table the agenda item to a specific date with clarification of intent and purpose.

§                     Recommend denial.

                     

City Council Action:

If the Planning and Zoning Commission takes action and makes a recommendation on this agenda item, then this Site Plan Amendment application will be scheduled for City Council action on July 5, 2022.
