Title

Consider a resolution approving an Agreement for Professional Services with Baird, Hampton & Brown of Fort Worth, Texas; for the purpose of providing engineering design for the Nightingale Drainage Improvements for the Public Works Department; and authorizing the City Manager to execute all documents relating thereto on behalf of the City of Keller, Texas.

Body

Action Requested:

Consider a resolution approving a professional services agreement with Baird, Hampton & Brown for providing engineering design for the Nightingale Drainage Improvements in the amount of $80,500.00.

Background:

In April 2020, the city entered into an agreement with Baird, Hampton & Brown to prepare a concept design report that allowed staff to consider several concepts for improvements to the low water crossing on Nightingale Circle.  The conceptual design selected by the City Council includes automated warning signs and gates, a sidewalk crossing and storm drain improvements along Nightingale Circle.  The roadway itself will not be raised to a level to avoid water overtopping.  The city’s Capital Improvements Program (CIP) reflects this project.  The scope for this agreement includes surveying, a drainage analysis, storm drain design, traffic control and bidding assistance with final design expected by the end of November.

Financial Impact:

Funding for the project is available in the Drainage Capital Improvement Project Fund with funding provided from the Drainage Utility Fund budget.
