Title

Consider a resolution approving a professional services agreement with Neel-Schaffer, of Arlington, Texas; to provide professional program management and engineering services for the Public Works Department and the Sidewalk Construction Program, and authorizing the City Manager, or designee, to execute all contract documents relating thereto on behalf of the City of Keller, Texas.

Body

Action Requested:

Approve a professional services agreement with Neel-Schaffer of Arlington, Texas; in an amount not to exceed $392,000 and authorizing the City Manager, or designee, to execute all related documents on behalf of the City of Keller, Texas.

Background:

In 2021, the City began addressing a backlog of sidewalk repairs through the Sidewalk Repair Program. With that program now complete, the next phase of improving pedestrian travel will focus on new sidewalk construction in areas with gaps in the system. An engineering firm assisted City Staff the program management, engineering services and construction administration of the sidewalk repairs. That project was successfully delivered. This contract will similarly help to successfully deliver the sidewalk construction project.

The recommended agreement with Neel-Schaffer will provide program management with engineering design and field observation services on an as-needed basis.

Financial Impact:

Funding is included in the Street System Capital Improvements Project Fund with funding provided by the General Fund and Street Maintenance Fund.
