Action Requested:                     

Authorize the purchase of two outdoor warning sirens and installation for the Keller Fire Rescue

 

Background:                     

The City of Keller is committed to maintaining a reliable and effective outdoor warning system to ensure the safety of residents during severe weather and emergency situations. The Fire Department has identified the need to replace two existing outdoor warning sirens to enhance emergency notification capabilities and maintain system reliability.

To facilitate the procurement process and secure competitive pricing, the City is purchasing the replacement sirens and installation services through The Interlocal Purchasing System (TIPS) cooperative. Utilizing this cooperative agreement ensures compliance with purchasing policies and allows the City to benefit from pre-negotiated pricing.

Federal Signal Corporation, a recognized leader in emergency warning systems, has provided an invoice dated January 21, 2025, in the amount of $60,517.82 for the purchase and installation of the two replacement outdoor warning sirens.

 

Financial Impact:

The total cost of this purchase is $60,517.82, which includes the two outdoor warning sirens and installation services. Funding for this expenditure will be allocated from General Fund. The purchase is being made through The Interlocal Purchasing System (TIPS) cooperative, allowing the City to obtain competitive pricing while ensuring compliance with purchasing regulations.
