Title

Body

Action Requested:

Consider a resolution approving a professional services agreement with Kimley-Horn for providing engineering design for the South Elm Street reconstruction project in the amount not to exceed $2,347,310.

Background:

The full reconstruction of South Elm Street has been identified as the next project to pursue as part of the Old Town Keller Phase II improvements. Under the proposed agreement, Kimley Horn will provide conceptual design, prepare construction drawings and specifications, bidding phase services and meetings.

A portion of the funding for the actual construction of the South Elm Street project will come from the Tarrant County Transportation bond approved by voters in November 2021. Under the bond guidelines, construction must be completed by the end of calendar year 2026, so it is essential that project design begin as soon as possible.

Financial Impact:

Funding is available from the Street System Capital Improvements Program fund with funding provided from the General Fund.
