Action Requested:                     

Approve a payment to North Texas Contracting, Inc. of Keller, Texas; for the emergency repair of a water line due to damage from a private contractor adjacent to the intersection of Mt. Gilead Road and Lone Star Drive, in the amount of $80,015.

 

Background:                     

On November 25th, a private contractor installing a telecommunications service bored through a 16” water main adjacent to the intersection at Mt. Gilead Road and Lone Star Drive. Staff immediately engaged with North Texas Contracting to begin restoration activities, placing the water line back into service on November 26th, and completing restoration activities on December 6th. 

Staff is in the process of filing the necessary reimbursement claims, to include this $80,015 payment.

Financial Impact:

Funds for this activity are being allocated from the Water Distribution division operations budget with funding provided by the Water & Wastewater Utility Fund.
