Title

Consider a resolution approving a professional services agreement with HR Green, Inc. of Plano, Texas; to provide professional engineering services related to drainage evaluation and rehabilitation along Whitley Road in the amount of $85,000, and authorizing the City Manager to execute all contract documents relating thereto on behalf of the City of Keller, Texas.

Body

Action Requested:

Approve a resolution authorizing a professional services agreement with HR Green, Inc. of Plano, Texas; to provide professional engineering services related to drainage evaluation and rehabilitation along Whitley Road in the amount of $85,000.

Background:

In the past several years, residents along Whitley Road have identified several areas with drainage deficiencies requiring evaluation. However, the terrain within the project area (roughly Rapp Road to North Tarrant Parkway) does not contrast enough to allow for effective field engineering to resolve drainage concerns over the whole of the project area. With a future reconstruction project in the very early planning stages, and the upcoming Whitley Road rehabilitation project soon to begin with Tarrant County, an opportunity has presented itself to survey existing conditions and provide engineered plans to improve drainage conditions through the project area which ultimately impacts adjacent property owners and the roadway.

The proposal from HR Green provides for stormwater engineering analysis, evaluation of existing conditions, and development of construction plans and specifications. As this activity directly relates to construction efforts already planned for this section of roadway, the professional services agreement will be paid for from the savings already identified in the existing project with Tarrant County.

Financial Impact:

Funds for this activity are included in the Street System Capital Improvements Project Fund with funding provided by the General Fund.
