Consider a resolution approving a Chapter 380 Economic Development Agreement, pursuant to Chapter 380 of the Texas Local Government Code, and pursuant to the City’s Economic Development Policy for Café Medi, 129 Olive Street, Keller, TX 76248
Background:
Mohamed & Theresa Moursi of Cafe Medi, owner of property located at 129 Olive St, Keller, TX 76248, are requesting a $10,000 façade improvement grant for façade renovation.
The estimated cost of the building exterior improvements is $26,834. The total amount of eligible improvements for this property is $10,000. The proposed improvements include replacing the accessibility ramp, deck patio, lamp pole lighting and improving the landscaping. All of these improvements meet the eligibility requirements of the City of Keller Façade Improvement Grant Program Policy.
The applicant has received a previous grant award in 2013. Under the Old Town Keller Façade Improvement Matching Grant Program, the applicant received a $5,000 to perform $10,900 in exterior improvements.
The Keller Economic Development Board considered this grant request on April 24, 2024 and unanimously recommended approval.
Financial Impact:
The current total of grant commitments from FY24 is $40,000 and if this grant is approved the total commitments will be $50,000. The FY24 budget includes $35,000 for Façade Improvement Grants specifically and a $225,000 pro renata budget for Incentives.
