Title
Consider a resolution approving the purchase of concrete repair and related services from CI Pavement, of Grand Prairie, Texas, for the replacement of asphalt parking surface at the Municipal Service Center (MSC) for the Public Works Department, through The Interlocal Purchasing Systems (TIPS) purchasing cooperative, and further authorizing the Interim City Manager to execute all purchase documents relating thereto on behalf of the City of Keller, Texas.
Action Requested:
Approve the purchase of concrete repair and related services from CI Pavement of Grand Prairie, Texas, through The Interlocal Purchasing System (TIPS) purchasing cooperative, in an amount not to exceed $65,000.
Background:
Since FY 2013-14, the City of Keller has annually allocated $35,000 for the phased conversion of the asphalt surface at the Municipal Service Center (MSC) to concrete. While sections of the surface have been converted over time, other areas have deteriorated faster than they could be replaced. In FY 2020-21, the budget for this activity was increased to $65,000 annually in order to address these repairs in a more expedited fashion.
TIPS is a purchasing program that allows state and local governments to benefit from the shared purchasing power of numerous state entities. A detailed bid sheet for the requested repairs is included with this memo as an exhibit.
City staff has reviewed and determined that the estimate from CI Pavement of Grand Prairie, Texas provides for the lowest and most responsible unit prices for such services and recommends the purchase of asphalt repair and related services, in an amount not to exceed $65,000.
Financial Impact:
Funding for this project is included with the Public Works - MSC Operations budget, with funding provided by the Water & Wastewater Utility Fund.
