Consider a resolution approving an agreement for professional services with Marseal Group, LLC of Roanoke, Texas for the repair and roof replacement of various city facilities damaged by the hail storm on April 28, 2021; and authorizing the City Manager to execute all documents relating thereto on behalf of the City of Keller, Texas.
Action Requested:
City staff respectfully requests approval of a resolution authorizing an agreement for professional services with Marseal Group LLC of Roanoke, Texas for the repair and roof replacement of various city facilities damaged by the hail storm which occurred on April 28, 2021; and authorizing the City Manager to execute all documents relating thereto on behalf of the City of Keller, Texas.
Background:
On April 28, 2021 a severe hail storm occurred in the City of Keller causing damage to city facilities. During the FY2022 budget process, Council was informed that the City would be working towards obtaining estimates for these repairs. The City selected Marseal Group, LLC to perform the repairs/replacement as a result of a competitive bidding process as required by statute. The agreements submitted will phase out roof repairs/replacements as follows:
Phase 1 - Municipal Service Complex and Fire Station 2
Phase 2 - Town Hall
Phase 3 - The Keller Pointe
Phase 4 - Police Department
Phase 5 - Library
Financial Impact:
The estimated cost for all five phases is $2,485,912. A claim has been filed with the City’s insurance carrier, Texas Municipal League Intergovernmental Risk Pool (TMLIRP). TMLIRP has paid for the majority of the anticipated repairs. The City will be submitting invoices to TMLIRP after each phase to recuperate any extra costs.
Legal Review:
Agreements for phases have been submitted to the City Attorney for review and approval.
