Consider a resolution approving an amendment to the 2025-26 Keller Fee Schedule revising the Sidewalk Curb Cut Fee; and establishing an effective date.
Action Requested:
Consider a resolution approving an amendment to the 2025-26 Keller Fee Schedule revising the Sidewalk Curb Cut Fee; and establishing an effective date.
Background:
Council approved a sidewalk fee as an alternative for developers installing sidewalks and better reflect the master thoroughfare plan. However, the current fee does not distinguish development of vacant land from improvements on existing residential lots. The intent of the policy was new residential lot building, including subdiving lots, and not lots that removing a current home to build a new home. By adjusting the calculation to reflect that the sidewalk fee would be assessed only when a roadway impact fee is assessed, it no longer discourages citizens from improving their residential lots with new homes.
Financial Impact:
The City has collected $114,712 the past four years or an average of $28,700 per year.
