Title

Consider a resolution approving a professional services agreement with HR Green, Inc. of Plano, Texas; to provide professional engineering services related to the 2024 Pavement Marking Program, and authorizing the City Manager to execute all contract documents relating thereto on behalf of the City of Keller, Texas.

Body

Action Requested:

Approve a resolution authorizing a professional services agreement with HR Green, Inc. of Plano, Texas; to provide professional engineering services related to the 2024 Pavement Marking Program, in the amount of $70,000.

Background:

The Federal Highway Administration publishes traffic control requirements through the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), establishing standards on the nation’s roadways. Included in these standards are both day and nighttime reflectivity requirements for pavement markings. The City has several roadways with pavement markings which do not meet reflectivity requirements; many of which were installed with their original roadway, more than a decade ago.

The professional services agreement will provide for the evaluation of existing conditions, offer recommendations for best value maintenance costs and methods, and deliver project management support of the maintenance activity.

Financial Impact:

Funds for this activity are included in the Street System Capital Improvements Project Fund with funding provided by the General Fund.

Legal Review:

The City Attorney has been reviewed and approved this item.

Council Action:

Staff recommends approval of the proposed resolution as presented.
