Consider a resolution ratifying a purchase agreement with Saratoga Rack Marketing LLC, dba Tartan Oil LLC for fuel purchases, as awarded by Tarrant County, Texas, utilizing a cooperative purchasing interlocal agreement between the City of Keller and Tarrant County; and authorizing the City Manager to execute all documents relating thereto on behalf of the City of Keller, Texas.
Action Requested:
Consider a resolution ratifying a purchase agreement for fuel purchases, as awarded by Tarrant County, utilizing a cooperative purchasing interlocal agreement between the City of Keller and Tarrant County.
Background:
The City of Keller has utilized interlocal agreements for fuel purchases to make fuel purchases at favorable rates. The City had been utilizing an interlocal agreement with the City of Fort Worth since 2020 to purchase fuel for the City’s fleet. At the conclusion of the City of Fort Worth’s latest bid process, the City of Keller’s fuel provider was not awarded the City of Fort Worth contract, necessitating the City of Keller to seek a new vendor.
Tarrant County has awarded a contract to Tartan Oil LLC (Tarrant County Bid #2023-070) and executed an option through April 6, 2026, with one more 12-month option remaining. Tarrant County has provided a positive reference for Tartan Oil LLC and has recommended the City of Keller to purchase fuel from them.
Financial Impact:
Last fiscal year, the City purchased approximately 104,000 gallons of regular unleaded and diesel fuel at a cost of $242,611.
The cost of fuel purchases is provided in the operating budgets of the City’s respective departments.
