Title
Consider a resolution approving a professional services agreement with Wade Trim, Inc., of Fort Worth, Texas; for the purpose of providing engineering design services related to the 2026 & 2027 Annual Street Maintenance Project for the Public Works Department; and authorizing the City Manager to execute all documents relating thereto on behalf of the City of Keller, Texas.
Action Requested:
Approve a professional services agreement with Wade Trim to provide engineering design services related to the 2026 & 2027 Annual Street Maintenance Project in the amount of $149,000.00.
Background:
The City’s Capital Improvements Program (CIP) includes an annual project dedicated to maintaining the residential street system through a range of activities, from routine surface treatments and localized repairs to full reconstruction when warranted. This program is funded through a ¼‑cent sales and use tax, with $2,100,000 budgeted for the current project cycle. On Tuesday, June 5, 2025, city staff received fifty‑nine Statements of Qualifications from engineering firms responding to the City’s general Request for Qualifications. Following a thorough evaluation, staff determined that Wade Trim was the most qualified firm. A proposal for design and construction services was subsequently negotiated based on the project scope outlined in the 2020 Pavement Management Analysis Report.
For the 2026 and 2027 Annual Street Project, the city is targeting improvements to Valle Vista Lane, Valle Vista Court, Dana Drive, Rhonda Road, and Ledara Lane.
Financial Impact:
Funding is available for this project in the Street System Capital Improvement Project Fund with funding provided by the General Fund. As unforeseen circumstances are encountered, which results in an overage of the project budget, further council action and budget amendments may be required
