Action Requested:

Consider a resolution approving the bid from McAllister’s Landscape Inc., for contractual services relating to Irrigation System Repair Services, for the Parks and Recreation Department for a one (1) year period, with four (4) additional one (1) year renewal periods, not to exceed five (5) years for an amount not to exceed $100,000 per one-year term.

Background:

Through the use of an inter-local agreement with the City of Carrollton, the City of Keller Parks and Recreation Department was able to utilize an irrigation contractor to perform irrigation system repair services throughout the parks system. The City of Carrollton’s contract for irrigation system repair services ended this past year. Therefore, it was necessary to advertise for bids to begin a new contract effective February 1, 2021.

A request for sealed bids for said services was advertised in accordance with State law.  The term of the bid is one (1) twelve-month period beginning February 1, 2021, with the option to renew for four (4) additional one-year periods.

Three qualified (3) bids were received and read aloud in accordance with State law on January 6, 2021, at 2:00 p.m.  The lowest bid was submitted from McAllister’s Landscape Inc., in the amount of $13,570.00. In addition to the base services included in the bid, city staff anticipates additional repair services will be needed throughout the contract term and proposes a total contract amount not to exceed $100,000.00 on an as needed basis over the next 12 months.

McAllister’s Landscape Inc., has performed irrigation system repair services for all Parks and Recreation Divisions in previous years.
