Action Requested:                     

Consider a resolution approving the bid from Idea Contracting, LLC., for the Full Depth Reclamation of Parking Lot “H” and the KYA Lot at the Keller Sports Park, in the amount of $739,259.00.

Background:                     

The Keller Sports Park is designated as approximately 104 acres of developed and undeveloped park land located at 265 Golden Triangle Boulevard. The park consists of numerous amenities, including athletic fields for soccer, baseball, softball, football, lacrosse and rugby, and adjacent parking lots for each field. To continue to provide exceptional amenities to the citizens of Keller, staff was directed to coordinate a parking lot renovation study for Parking Lot “H” and the KYA Lot for final construction consideration.

A design was developed by the engineering firm of Neel-Schaffer, Inc., and issued for competitive bidding. Five bids were received on August 16, 2022 with Idea Contracting, LLC., of Keller, Texas submitting the lowest bid meeting specifications. City staff, with the aid of Neel-Schaffer, Inc., Engineering, has reviewed the low bidder’s qualifications, bonding capacity and references.

Financial Impact:

The project is included in the Parks System Capital Improvement Program Fund with funding provided by the Keller Development Corporation fund.

Citizen Input/Board Review:                     

The project was presented to, and unanimously approved by, the Keller Development Corporation.

Legal Review:                       

The City Attorney has reviewed and approved the proposed resolution.
