Title

Consider a resolution approving the purchase of pool deck replacement and tile cleaning services for the Indoor Pool, from the Buy Board vendor Sunbelt Pools, Inc. of Dallas, Texas for The Keller Pointe Recreation and Aquatic Center, and cancelling the agreement approved by Resolution No. 4467 on January 18, 2022 with Sunbelt Pools, Inc. of Dallas, Texas, effective May 3, 2022; and authorizing the City Manager to execute all purchase documents relating thereto on behalf of the City of Keller, Texas.

Body

Background:

The original building plans that were provided to Sunbelt Pools, Inc. did not accurately show the amount of concrete and rebar that was present at the time of demolition.  Sunbelt Pools Inc. requested the assistance of an engineer to design a new pool deck to ensure durability and structural integrity.  A structural engineer with Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates Inc. designed initial plans for Sunbelt Pools Inc. to be used in the pricing of the current change order.  As part of the Indoor Pool Deck Replacement project, additional work is based on the engineered plans that were provided to The Keller Pointe on April 6, 2022 by Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates Inc.  The additional cost is a result of the rising steel, concrete, and labor costs.

Financial Impact:

The cost of the contract for Indoor Pool Deck Replacement project is $706,505.00, with and an additional $11,597.58 for the bond cost, for a total of $718,102.58.  Funding will be provided by The Keller Pointe Recreation/Aquatic Fund and will require a future budget amendment.
