Title

Consider a resolution approving the purchase of Pavement Marking services from Linear Traffic Markings LLC, of Fort Worth, Texas, for the City-Wide Pavement Marking Project, for the Public Works Department, through an interlocal agreement with the City of Fort Worth; and authorizing the City Manager to execute all documents relating thereto on behalf of the City of Keller, Texas.

Body

Action Requested:

Approve the purchase of Pavement Marking Services from Linear Traffic Markings LLC, of Fort Worth, Texas; for the City-Wide Pavement Marking Services project in an amount not to exceed $630,000.

Background:

The City of Keller entered into an Interlocal Agreement with the City of Fort Worth on August 12, 2003 (Resolution No. 2017) for cooperative purchasing of various goods, materials, equipment, and supplies.

On May 21st, 2024, the City Council approved an agreement for Pavement Marking services from Linear Traffic Markings, LLC. The work that was done as part of that agreement included the installation of long line pavement markings, turn pockets, crosswalks, reflective pavement markers and other miscellaneous pavement markings to address faded or non-reflective markings throughout public roadways within the City of Keller.

City staff has reviewed and determined that the line-item pricing in the On-Call Pavement Markings contract from the City of Fort Worth (Exhibit A) with Linear Traffic Markings, LLC provides for the most responsive and lowest cost method to continue this work and the City has received approval from the City of Fort Worth to utilize this contract. The projected cost savings of utilizing this contract should allow for additional not-yet-identified locations to be completed this year on an as needed basis.

Financial Impact:

Funding is included in the Street System Capital Improvements Project Fund, with funding provided by the General Fund.
