Title

Consider a resolution approving an Agreement for Professional Services with Kleinfelder of Irving, Texas; for the purpose of assessing four water storage tanks and providing recommendations for rehabilitation for each, for the Public Works Department; and authorizing the City Manager to execute all documents relating thereto on behalf of the City of Keller, Texas.

Body

Action Requested:

Consider a resolution approving a professional services agreement with Kleinfelder for assessing four water storage tanks and providing recommendations for rehabilitation for each in the amount of $119,374.00.

Background:

The City’s Capital Improvements Program (CIP) includes rehabilitation improvements to the city’s five water storage tanks.  In May of 2019, the city entered into an agreement with Kleinfelder to assess the Pearson ground storage tank #1 and provide recommendations and design services for rehabilitation.  At the end of that process it was determined the remaining four (4) water tanks should be assessed as well with rehabilitation cost estimates for each so that the rehab activities can be appropriately prioritized and budgeted for.  Staff negotiated a proposal for these services with Kleinfelder.  The scope includes a condition assessment of each tank, a preliminary engineering assessment report, cost estimates and a recommended prioritization.

Financial Impact:

Funding for the evaluation is included Water-Wastewater Capital Improvements Project Fund with funding provided by the Water-Wastewater Utility Fund.
