Title

Consider a resolution approving a professional services agreement with HR Green, Inc. of Plano, Texas, to provide professional program management and engineering services for the Public Works department and the Sidewalk Repair Program, and authorizing the City Manager to execute all contract documents relating thereto on behalf of the City of Keller, Texas.

Body

Action Requested:

Consider a resolution approving a professional services agreement with HR Green, Inc. of Plano, Texas; to provide professional program management and engineering services for the Public Works department and the Sidewalk Repair Program in the amount of $300,000.

Background:

Beginning in 2021, the City has endeavored to address sidewalk issues and repairs through the Sidewalk Repair Program. Initially, it was the department’s intention to identify and begin repairs on small segments of the City and use experience gained from those areas to continue to work through other small sections in a way that was internally manageable. However, in an effort to reduce the impact of materials inflation, staff was directed at the April 19th City Council meeting to accelerate the Sidewalk Repair Project by initiating work across the City in as small a timeframe as possible. At that time, staff began working with HR Green, who had already developed the scope and specifications for the smaller repair areas, in order to develop a project scope for delivery of the remainder of the project.

The recommended agreement with HR Green will provide program management, engineering, and operational support with the option to request additional project management services or other defined work tasks as needed. The professional services agreement will be paid for with the funds already allocated for the Sidewalk Repair Program.

The contract provides for all necessary program management, construction administration, engineering, and inspection services for the Sidewalk Repair Program in the amount of $300,000.00 through December 2023.

Financial Impact:

The cost of the agreement is $300,000.00 and funding is provided in the Street System Capital Improvements Project Fund with funding provided by the General Fund.
