Consider a resolution of the City Council for the City of Keller, Texas, amending Resolution No. 4539, approved on August 2, 2022, by canceling the Public Hearing scheduled for Tuesday, September 6, 2022, and by calling for a Public Hearing on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, to consider the updated Major Thoroughfare Plan.
Action Requested:
The City Council called for the Public Hearing to take place on September 6, 2022, but due to the change to the Impact Fee Public Hearing date, the Public Hearing regarding the adoption of an updated Major Thoroughfare Plan needs to be rescheduled to September 20, 2022.
Background:
Originally adopted in May 1988, and amended in 2004 and 2012, the Major Thoroughfare Plan identifies the required roadway system for current and future needs. The purpose of the Major Thoroughfare Plan is to describe the street network required to meet the mobility needs of the city and to identify the right of way required to provide that street network.
On May 24, 2022, the Capital Improvements Advisory Committee (CIAC) Committee Members met to consider the updated Major Thoroughfare Plan proposal and unanimously recommended its approval as presented.
Citizen Input/Board Review:
At their Regular Meeting held on May 24, 2022, the CIAC Committee Members unanimously approved the proposed Major Thoroughfare Plan as presented.
Council Action:
Begin the required 30-day public comment period and announce the scheduling of a public hearing regarding the adoption of an updated Major Thoroughfare Plan for September 20th, 2022.
