Action Requested:
Consider amending the City of Keller Code of Ordinances Chapter 3 - Animals, Fowl, Insects and Reptiles by adding the designation of a Local Rabies Control Authority.
Background:
The City was contacted by the Texas Department of State Health Services referencing the Designation of a Local Rabies Control Authority. Texas Health & Safety Code 826.017 requires the governing body of each municipality to designate an officer to act as the local rabies control authority. The ordinance designates the Lead Animal Control Officer as the Local Rabies Control Authority (LRCA).
