Title

Consider a resolution approving the purchase and installation of a replacement roof for the Library Annex, from Tekton Commercial Roofing, of Argyle, Texas, through The Interlocal Purchasing System (TIPS) Cooperative Purchasing Program, for the Facilities Department; and authorizing the City Manager to execute all purchase documents relating thereto on behalf of the City of Keller, Texas.

Body

Action Requested:

Consider a resolution approving the purchase and installation of a replacement roof, from Tekton Commercial Roofing, of Argyle, Texas, in the amount of $59,560.00, through The Interlocal Purchasing System (TIPS) Cooperative Purchasing Program.

Background:

The existing roof at the Library Annex is the original metal roofing installed when the facility was constructed in 1991 and has reached the end of its useful life expectancy. Staff has previously contracted with Tekton Commercial Roofing to replace multiple facility roofs that were damaged during the 2021 hail storm, including Keller Town Hall, The Keller Pointe, The Keller Public Library, the Keller Police Station and the Municipal Service Center. Staff is recommending replacing the existing metal roof with an asphalt shingle roof to reduce the project’s cost and to allow the roof to be covered under insurance for future damage.

Financial Impact:

The replacement roof, in the amount of $59,560.00, shall be paid from the adopted FY 2024-25 Facility Capital Replacement Budget.
