Title
Consider a resolution approving a contract amendment with Sciens LLC of McKinney, Texas; to provide ongoing project management and closeout services for the Community Development System Implementation Support project and authorizing the City Manager to execute all contract documents relating thereto on behalf of the City of Keller, Texas.
Action Requested:
Approve a contract amendment with Sciens LLC of McKinney, Texas; to provide ongoing project management and closeout services relating to the Community Development System Implementation Support project in the amount of $10,000.
Background:
The City entered into a professional services agreement with Sciens in April 2023, to assist in the development and implementation of a new permitting and plan review software. Sciens provided support in order to develop effective workflows and processes that would benefit customers, contractors and staff.
As software implementation progressed, Sciens was able to help identify changes that could be made to further improve the functionality of the software. Along with these changes, as well as additional internal testing, the schedule go-live date moved by approximately 2.5 months, necessitating the extension of this contract.
As these professional services have been identified as the most cost-effective way of managing the program on an ongoing basis, this amendment provides for the same services, as well as project closeout services for the FY2023-24 Community Development System Implementation Support project as budgeted.
The original contract, approved via contract # 23-28, in the amount of $48,000, along with amendment #1, in the amount of $10,000, will bring the total for these activities to $58,000. No further amendments or extensions are anticipated.
Financial Impact:
The funding for this item is included in the Community Development operations budget with funding provided by the General Fund.
Legal Review:
The proposed amendment has been reviewed by the City Attorney.
Alternatives:
City Council has the following alternatives:
- Approve as submitted
- Approve with changes
- Denial
Council Action:
Consideration of the resolution as presented in the amount of $10,000.
