Consider a resolution approving Amendment No. 2 to the Interlocal Agreement for Combined Public Safety Dispatching and Jail Services for the Cities of Keller, Southlake, and Colleyville, Texas for a one-year extension of the Interlocal Agreement, and authorizing the City Manager to execute said agreement on behalf of the City of Keller.
Background:
The cities of Keller, Southlake and Colleyville entered into an interlocal agreement for combined public safety dispatching and jail services in August 2010. The interlocal will expire on September 30, 2026. All Cities have agreed a one-year extension to finalize financial terms for a new agreement and to align these services with the Animal Control regional contract which expires on September 30, 2027.
The first amendment to the Interlocal Agreement added Roanoke to the jail services contract. They terminated the contract in March, 2026 due to Denton County no longer allowing virtual magistration. Roanoke is still utilizing Keller Animal Control.
Financial Impact:
For FY 2026-27, the regional contracts with Southlake and Colleyville are estimated to be $2,711,307.
