Action Requested:                     

Consider a resolution approving the purchase of one (1) replacement Case Wheel Loader from Associated Supply Company, Inc., in the net purchase amount of $132,500.00.

 

Background:                     

The requested wheel loader is to be utilized by Parks Department staff throughout the City of Keller Parks System. The uses for this equipment will include, but not be limited to: construction projects in parks, on athletic fields, and city facility grounds; tree placement; irrigation and drainage improvements; and general park maintenance.

The requested wheel loader will replace an existing unit which is ten (10) years old and has 2,486 hours of use.

During the Fiscal Year 2022-23 budget process, all equipment requests were submitted to the City Manager for review.

 

Financial Impact:

The total amount budgeted for this equipment is $165,000.00, which is to be funded from the Keller Development Corporation. The cost of the equipment with selected implements is $176,335.02, and the trade-in allowance of old equipment of $35,000.00, along with additional discounts make for a net purchase cost of $132,500.00.

 

Citizen Input/Board Review:                     

The Keller Development Corporation approved this item in the FY2022-23 KDC annual budget.
