Title

Consider a resolution approving a Discretionary Services Agreement with Oncor Electric Delivery Company LLC, for the purpose of replacing overhead facilities with underground facilities as part of the South Elm Street Reconstruction project, for the Public Works Department; and authorizing the City Manager to execute all documents relating thereto on behalf of the City of Keller, Texas.

Body

Action Requested:

Approve a Discretionary Services Agreement (DSA) with Oncor Electric Company LLC in the amount of $539,234.73.

Background:

Design engineers for the South Elm Street Reconstruction project worked with the local franchise utilities on burying as much equipment as possible to reduce visual clutter. The city’s franchise agreement with the company requires Oncor to relocate equipment at their own cost when public improvements warrant it, but does not stipulate they must bury poles, lines, or other materials for aesthetic purposes.

The cost of the Discretionary Service Agreement is calculated as the additional cost required to place the facilities underground rather than aerial relocation.

Financial Impact:

Funding is included in the Streets Capital Improvement Project Fund with funding provided by the General Fund.
