Title
Consider a resolution approving the revised Operating Fee Schedule for the Keller Pointe, for the Parks and Recreation Department, to include an approximate four percent (4%) increase to all membership fees with the exception of daily fees effective the beginning of the calendar year 2023 and authorizing the City Manager to execute all documents relating thereto on behalf of the City of Keller, Texas.
Action Requested:
Consider a resolution approving the revised Operating Fee Schedule for the Keller Pointe, for the Parks and Recreation Department, to include an approximate four percent (4%) increase to all membership fees with the exception of daily fees effective the beginning of the calendar year 2023.
Background:
In an effort to continue operating the facility in a financially sustainable manner and to provide exceptional services to patrons an approximate four percent (4%) membership fee is required to stay competitive with other local facilities. By policy, fees may be increased by up to 3% per year without Council action, however, fees are typically increased 3% every three years with Council approval. The Keller Pointe has not increased membership prices in four years due to the Pandemic. However, operational costs continue to rise and a fee increase is required to help offset the cost increases.
Financial Impact:
Assuming membership levels remain the same, the approximate four perfect (4%) membership rate increase would generate an estimated $312,394.06 in new revenues over a nine-month period. Exhibit “A” provides a breakdown of fee increase and percent increase by membership type.
