Background:

The proposed Joint Election Agreement and Contract for Election Services with the Tarrant County Elections Administrator outlines the duties and services of the Tarrant County Elections Administrator, and the City of Keller’s responsibilities for the November 7, 2023 Joint Election. The Joint Election Agreement and Contract for Election Services with Tarrant County Elections includes:

 

(1)                     All entities participating in the November 7, 2023 Joint Election will share all early voting locations, which includes Keller Town Hall as listed in Attachment “A” of said Agreement and Contract.  All registered voters will be able to go to any early voting site in Tarrant County, and vote on election issues for which the voter is eligible to vote.

 

(2)                     On Election Day, all entities participating in the November 7, 2023 Joint Election will share all Election Day locations, Keller Town Hall as listed in Attachment “B” of said Agreement and Contract.

 

(3)                     The County’s electronic voting equipment for said election includes the Hart InterCivic Verity Voting System (Version 2.7), which has been approved by the Secretary of State.     

 

Budget Impact:

The City of Keller’s total cost estimate to participate in the November 7, 2023 Joint Election conducted by the Tarrant County Elections Administrator is $22,453.43. Funding for this election is available in the FY 2023-24 City Secretary budget.

 

Legal Review:                     

The Joint Agreement and Contract for Election Services has been reviewed and approved by the City Attorney.

 

Council Action:                     

Staff recommends approval of the proposed Joint Election Agreement and Contract for Election Services with Tarrant County.
