Title

Consider a resolution of the City Council of the City of Keller, Texas, approving the purchase of Lion Apparel turnout gear for the Fire Department from North American Fire Equipment Company (NAFECO) through the BuyBoard cooperative purchasing program, and authorizing the City Manager to execute all related documents.

Body

Background:

The Fire Department routinely replaces turnout gear as part of its ongoing effort to maintain firefighter safety and ensure compliance with current NFPA standards. Gear must be replaced periodically due to age, wear, or damage sustained during operations.

A purchase order in the amount of $28,312.97 was previously issued to NAFECO for seven sets of new hire gear under BuyBoard Contract #698-23. The attached additional quote in the amount of $48,536.52 reflects anticipated replacement gear purchases needed throughout the fiscal year. The total annual cost will vary depending on the number of personnel changes, condition of existing gear, and any unforeseen replacements required due to damage.

Financial Impact:

Funds for these purchases are budgeted and available in the FY 2025-26 Fire Department budget. The total cost is not expected to exceed the budgeted allocation for protective gear.
