Action Requested:                     

Consider a resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement with Comm-Fit for the purchase and installation of fitness equipment for the Keller Senior Activities Center for a total cost of $82,491.02.

 

 

Background:                     

The City has selected Comm-Fit as the vendor to supply fitness equipment for the new Senior Activities Center.  The equipment chosen will include various cardio equipment, inclusive strength equipment, functional fitness equipment, and a variety of free weights. The equipment selected is suitable for all members, with the strength equipment having the added benefit of being adaptable for members with disabilities.

The fitness equipment will consist of the following:
- 3 Treadmills: $17,220
- 2 Recumbent Bicycles: $5,656      
- 2 Total Body Arc Trainers (Ellipticals): $12,360
- 1 Chest Press: $4,143.20
- 1 Overhead Press: $4,056.80
- 1 Leg Extension: $4,143.20
- 1 Leg Curl: $4,143.20
- 1 Lat Pull: $4,143.20
- 1 Functional Trainer: $4,173.50
- 2 Adjustable Benches: $1,546
- 1 Upper Body Adjustable Crank: $3,975
- Various Dumbbells with Rack: $1,471.29
- Various Medicine Balls with Rack: $1,316.63
- Freight, Delivery, and Installation: $14,143

 

Financial Impact:

Funding for the fitness equipment for the Senior Activities Center is budgeted in the Furniture, Fitness and Equipment Fund with funding provided by the Fiscal Year 2018-19 General Fund Budget and 2020 General Obligation Bond Funds and is included in the City’s allowance budget within the Senior Activities Center construction budget.  The total cost of all the fitness equipment is $82,491.02.
