Action Requested:                     

Consider a resolution approving a professional services agreement with Kimley-Horn for providing engineering design for the Shady Grove Road Improvements project in the amount of $867,880.00.

 

Background:                     

The Shady Grove Road Improvements project was identified as a priority in the 2012 transportation bond proposal.  With the bond proposal failing to pass, the city has been incrementally addressing the identified roadway needs over the last decade.  The proposed project is from Keller-Smithfield Road to Smithfield Road and includes improvements to the roadway, drainage, sidewalks and intersection control.

The scope of this contract includes public engagement, engineering design, intersection control evaluation, right of way acquisition, accessibility review and bidding phase services.

 

Financial Impact:

Funding is available in the FY 2020-21 Streets Capital Improvements Project budget with funding provided from the General Fund.

The City Attorney has reviewed and approved the proposed resolution.
