Action Requested:
Consider a resolution approving a contract for concrete lifting and stabilization services from Nortex Concrete Lift and Stabilization of Fort Worth, Texas through the Interlocal Agreement with the City of Grand Prairie, Texas, in the amount of $100,000 for a one-year period, with the option to renew the contract for four (4) additional one-year periods.
Background:
The City of Keller entered into an Interlocal Agreement with the City of Grand Prairie on October 7, 2008 (Resolution No. 2741) for cooperative purchasing of various goods, materials, equipment, and supplies.
The City of Grand Prairie has entered into an annually renewable contract with Nortex Concrete Lift and Stabilization of Fort Worth, Texas, for lifting, stabilizing and under sealing of concrete pavement that is needed over the next 12-month period. These services provide for the most cost efficient repairs of sunken or damaged concrete sections without the expense of completely removing and replacing limited areas of streets, sidewalks, trails and other concrete structures.
City staff has reviewed and determined that the bid (See Exhibit A) from Nortex Concrete Lift and Stabilization of Fort Worth, Texas for the City of Grand Prairie provides for the lowest and most responsible unit prices for such services and recommends the purchase of concrete lifting and stabilization services in an amount of $100,000, on an as needed basis during the fiscal year 2021-22.
Financial Impact:
This contract, including its initial term, shall be annually renewable up to a total of 5 years, without additional action from the City Council. Funding for future years is dependent upon those funds specifically adopted annually by the City Council for street maintenance activities. The project will be funded from the General Fund - Public Works Department - Street Maintenance operations budget.
