Title

Consider a resolution approving a contract amendment to a Professional Services Agreement with Baird, Hampton & Brown, of Fort Worth, Texas; for the purpose of providing engineering drainage review services relating to development applications for the Public Works Department; and authorizing the City Manager to execute all documents relating thereto on behalf of the City of Keller, Texas.

Body

Action Requested:

Approve a contract amendment to a Professional Services Agreement with Baird, Hampton & Brown, of Fort Worth, Texas in the amount of $48,415.

Background:

As Keller continues to develop, the drainage complexity of the development projects has increased.  Baird, Hampton & Brown has provided drainage development review services over the last several years, which is a valuable resource for staff.

Baird, Hampton & Brown currently provides drainage development review on an as-needed basis.  In October 2021, a contract was awarded for $30,000 to provide said services on an annual basis. The annual amount for this contract will be exceeded this fiscal year due to the type and complexity of reviews that will occur prior to the end of the fiscal year. With an amendment, total spending for this activity would increase to a total of $78,415 in the current fiscal year.

Financial Impact:

Funds are budgeted in the Drainage Operations division of the Public Works Department, with funding provided by the Drainage Utility fund. If funds necessary to complete this project are not available, a budget amendment will be required.
