Title

Consider a resolution approving the purchase of replacement traffic signal detection equipment from Paradigm Traffic Systems, Inc., of Arlington, Texas through the Buyboard Purchasing Cooperative and authorizing the Interim City Manager to execute all related purchase documents on behalf of the City of Keller, Texas.

Body

Action Requested:

Approve the purchase of replacement traffic signal detection equipment from Paradigm Traffic Systems, Inc., of Arlington, Texas through the Buyboard Purchasing Cooperative, in the amount of $164,500.00

Background:

The requested traffic signal detection equipment will replace detection equipment at seven (7) intersections on the city-owned signal network. These replacements will upgrade the applicable equipment at the bulk of remaining city-owned intersections, with only four (4) intersections and two (2) fire station signals to be completed in future years.

The detection equipment will provide real-time observation and operational diagnosis of the signal system. This work is a part of a concerted effort to upgrade and standardize the City’s signal infrastructure prior to the assumption of operations of the state network, expected in 2030-31.

Buyboard is a purchasing program that allows state and local governments to benefit from the shared purchasing power of numerous state entities. A detailed bid sheet for the requested dump truck is included with this memo as an exhibit.

Financial Impact:

Funding for these items is included in the Public Works - Street Maintenance operations budget, with funding provided by the General Fund.
