Consider a resolution approving an Agreement for Engineering Services with Peloton Land Solutions, Inc, a Westwood Company, of Plano, Texas; for the purpose of providing design of the Annual Sanitary Sewer Replacement Project 2024 for the Public Works Department; and authorizing the City Manager to execute all documents relating thereto on behalf of the City of Keller, Texas.
Action Requested:
Consider a resolution approving an Agreement for Engineering Services with Peloton Land Solutions, Inc, a Westwood Company of Plano, Texas for the purpose of providing design of the for the Public Works Department in the amount of $171,262.50.
Background:
The United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) regulate the installation and maintenance of sanitary sewer collection systems and provides guidelines. Public Works has a preventative maintenance program to minimize overflows and replace high maintenance sewer mains. The City’s Capital Improvements Program (CIP) contains an annual project to replace these sewer mains. Each year, existing sewer lines are identified for inclusion in a project based on their maintenance history. Replacement methods are varied depending upon existing conditions and the selected consultant will determine the most cost-effective solution for each location.
In June of 2023 city staff received statements of qualifications from interested engineering firms for various infrastructure improvements in response to the city’s general Request for Qualifications (RFQ). After extensive review of each RFQ, city staff determined that Peloton Land Solutions, Inc, a Westwood Company was the most qualified for this project. Staff then negotiated a proposal for design and construction services.
Financial Impact:
Funding is available in the Water/Wastewater Capital Improvements Project Fund with funding provided by the Water & Wastewater Utility Fund.
