Title

Consider a resolution with Creative Bus Sales for the purchase of one (1) Starcraft Allstar 22’ Bus for the Senior Center, through the Houston-Galveston (H-GAC) Cooperative Purchasing Program, and authorizing the City Manager to execute all purchase documents relating thereto on behalf of the City of Keller, Texas.

Body

Action Requested:

Consider a resolution approving the purchase of one (1) Starcraft Allstar 22’ Bus for the Senior Center in the amount of $105,433.15.

Background:

The Parks and Recreation Department is proposing the purchase of one (1) Starcraft Allstar 22’ Bus for the Senior Center. The existing bus is nine years old, requires significant maintenance, and has reached the end of its useful life. The proposed bus will include a larger chassis for a smoother ride than the current bus.

The purchase price of $105,433.15 for the bus is through H-GAC.  The current bus will either be traded-in or returned for auction depending on which provides best value.

The bus will be delivered in either late FY 2021-22 or early FY 2022-23 depending on the availability of after-market parts.

Financial Impact:

The cost of the bus is $105,433.15 and funds were put aside for the replacement purchase in FY 2020-21 Keller Vehicle and Equipment Replacement Fund budget. Funds will be made available by budget amendment in FY 2021-22 or included in the FY 2022-23 budget depending on the revised delivery date.
