Action Requested:                     

Approve a resolution approving the bid from Central North Construction, LLC., of Allen, Texas, in the amount of $261,605.30 for the construction of the US 377 landscape enhancements Green Ribbon project for the Parks and Recreation Department and authorizing the City Manager to execute all related documents.

 

Background:                     

The City was awarded up to $400,000 from TxDOT as part of the Green Ribbon program. This money is for beautification and landscaping projects along TxDOT roadways. The City has received three previous Green Ribbon awards to improve US377 through Old Town Keller and for FM1709 from Page Street to Pearson. This project continues the City’s goal to improve medians throughout the City.

 

Financial Impact:

Funding for this activity is included in the Street System Capital Improvements Project Fund with funding provided by the General Fund with TxDOT reimbursement. If unforeseen circumstances are encountered, which results in an overage of the project budget, further council action and a budget amendment may be required.

 

Legal Review:                       

The City Attorney has reviewed and approved.
