Consider a resolution expressing support for the establishment of the Keller Youth Council as a student-led civic engagement organization.
BACKGROUND
Keller student Avaani Pant presented a proposal to the Mayor for the creation of a Keller Youth Council, a student-led organization designed to encourage civic engagement, leadership development, and community involvement among local youth.
The proposed organization would operate independently under the leadership of its student members and is intended to provide students with opportunities to learn about local government, serve their community, and engage with elected officials.
The attached resolution expresses the City Council's support for the establishment of the Keller Youth Council and recognizes the value of encouraging youth participation in civic affairs. The resolution does not create a City board, commission, or advisory committee, nor does it establish an obligation for City staff to administer or manage the organization.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
