Title

Consider a resolution of the City Council of the City of Keller, Texas, approving an interlocal agreement with the City of Watauga for fleet vehicle maintenance services; authorizing the City Manager to execute the agreement on the City’s behalf; providing a repealing clause; providing for severability; and providing an effective date.

Body

Background:

Keller Fire Rescue is committed to maintaining a reliable and efficient fleet of emergency response vehicles to ensure the highest level of service to the community. Currently, the fire department does not have a formalized fleet maintenance program, which has led to increased downtime, unplanned expenses, and inefficiencies in maintaining vehicles.

To address this challenge, the department has explored opportunities to enhance fleet maintenance capabilities through regional collaboration. The proposed Interlocal Agreement with the City of Watauga would allow Keller Fire Department vehicles to be maintained and serviced by Watauga’s fleet maintenance team, leveraging their expertise and resources.

This partnership is expected to result in improved fleet reliability and reduced administrative burdens by streamlining maintenance processes. The agreement outlines the scope of services, pricing, and terms for shared accountability, ensuring a mutually beneficial arrangement for both cities
