Action Requested:                     

Consider a resolution approving the purchase of one (1) replacement Toro Groundsmaster 4500-D nine-foot (9’) deck mower from Professional Turf Products, L.P. in the amount of $72,031.94.

 

Background:                     

The requested mower is to be utilized by Parks Department staff to mow all of the athletic fields at the Keller Sports Park. These include four (4) Baseball Fields, four (4) Softball Fields, two (2) Multi-purpose Fields, and six (6) Soccer Fields that are each mowed two (2) to three (3) times per week, depending on the season.

The requested mower will replace an existing unit which is seven (7) years old and has 3,302 hours of use.

During the Fiscal Year 2019-20 budget process, all equipment requests were submitted to the City Manager for review.

BuyBoard is a purchasing program that allows state and local governments to benefit from the shared purchasing power of numerous state entities. A detailed bid sheet for the requested mower is included with this memo as Attachment “A”.

 

Financial Impact:

The total amount budgeted for this equipment is $75,000, which is to be funded from the Keller Development Corporation. The total cost of the equipment is $72,031.94, a difference of $2,968.06.

 

Citizen Input/Board Review:                     

The Keller Development Corporation approved this item in the FY2019-20 KDC annual budget.

 

Legal Review:                       

The City Attorney has reviewed and approved the proposed resolution.
