Title

Consider a resolution approving an Agreement for Engineering Services with Baird, Hampton & Brown of Grapevine, Texas; for the purpose of providing Phase 3 of the Master Drainage Plan for the Public Works Department; and authorizing the City Manager to execute all documents relating thereto on behalf of the City of Keller, Texas.

Body

Action Requested:

Consider a resolution approving an Agreement for Engineering Services with Baird, Hampton & Brown of Grapevine, Texas; for the purpose of providing Phase 3 of the Master Drainage Plan for the Public Works Department in the amount of $224,730.00.

Background:

The Master Drainage Plan was last updated in 1991 and should be updated in +/- 5-year increments.  In addition, a condition assessment of the drainage system has never been completed.

This Agreement is for Phase 3 of a three-phase project, with the first two phases being complete. Phase 1 of the project, in the amount of $140,495.00, included data collection, FLUP evaluation, major soil type delineation, hydraulic, and hydrologic models. Phase 2 of the project, in the amount of $214,786.00, included analyzing and calculating capacities of the whole drainage network and incorporating those capacities into the Phase 1 models.

The work to be performed under Phase 3 of the project includes creating exhibits for the major creeks and channels showing inundation limits, highlighting potential detention areas that would reduce downstream flooding, identifying deficiencies in and potential upgrades to the existing drainage system, creating exhibits for the public drainage system, providing a Master Drainage Plan Report and providing copies of the computer models of the drainage system.

Financial Impact:

The cost of the agreement is $224,730.00 and funding is provided in the Drainage Capital Improvements Project Fund with funding provided by the Drainage Utility Fund.
