Action Requested:
Consider a resolution approving the purchase of engineering services for the Indoor Pool Deck construction from Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, Inc of Northbrook, IL, for $67,004.01, for The Keller Pointe Recreation and Aquatic Center; and authorizing the City Manager to execute all purchase documents relating thereto on behalf of the City of Keller, Texas.
Background:
The City of Keller retained Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates Inc. in March 2022. Sunbelt Pools, Inc. required the assistance of an engineer to design a new pool deck to ensure durability and structural integrity. Phase I services consisted of structural condition assessment and development of schematic options for slab replacement. The Phase I services were completed in April 2022 at the cost of $12,181.71. In May 2022, the City requested WJE to initiate preparation for construction documents depicting the replacement concrete slab. The preparation of construction documents is identified as Phase II at the cost of $34,822.30. In addition, an initial part of construction administration services, identified as Phase IIIA and been authorized and is in progress at the cost of $2,900.00. Phase IIIB will represent a second and final sub phase of Phase III construction administration services anticipated during the contractor’s installation of the replacement slab at the cost of $17,100.00. For a total cost of $67,004.01
Financial Impact:
The cost of the engineering services for the Indoor Pool Deck Replacement project is $67,004.01. Funding will be provided by The Keller Pointe Recreation/Aquatic Fund and will require a future budget amendment.
