Action Requested:

Consider a resolution approving a Chapter 380 Economic Development Program Agreement, for an Old Town Keller Façade Improvement Matching Grant, in the amount of $5,000.00.

Background:

Rick Figueroa and Randy Brown, owners of The Station Grill & Ice House, are requesting a $5,000.00 façade improvement grant for improvements to the property located at 111 West Vine Street. The total estimated cost of all eligible façade improvements is $49,477.24.

On June 16, 2009, City Council approved a resolution granting a $1,400 façade improvement grant for the improvements of 111 West Vine Street. The grant was applied to the costs of painting exterior walls and trim and installation of a new door on the west side of the building.

On May 15, 2012, City Council approved a resolution granting a façade improvement grant for the improvements of 111 West Vine Street. The grant expired due to the tenant’s failure to complete improvements.

The grant policy allows participants to apply for up to one grant in a 12 month period from completion of previous grant.

Budget Impact:

The remaining program budget for the 2017 Fiscal Year is $35,000.00. If the façade improvement matching grant application is approved, the remaining program budget would be $30,000.00.
