2017 Community Waste Disposal Market Adjustment
The City’s contract with Community Waste Disposal for citywide garbage collection and recycling services allows for a rate adjustment twenty-four (24) months from the contract date of September 1, 2015. Subsequent adjustments may be made annually for the duration of the five-year agreement.
Solid waste and recycling rates are adjusted according to the Consumer Price Index for the Dallas-Fort Worth area, fuel costs, and disposal fees. The percentage breakdown of the three components of the adjustment vary based on the type of service.
The current monthly charge for regular residential service is $11.91 and will increase to $12.39 effective September 1, 2017. The Staff Attachment for this item includes the new rates for all residential and commercial services.
