Title

Consider a resolution approving Amendment No. 1 to the Professional Services Agreement with J. Volk Consulting, Inc., of Southlake, Texas, relating to the North Main Water Line Improvements Project, for the Public Works Department, and further authorizes the City Manager to execute said amendment No. 1 relating thereto on behalf of the City of Keller, Texas.

Body

Action Requested:

Consider a resolution approving contract amendment #1 with J. Volk Consulting for the North Main Street Water Line Improvements Project.

Background:

The city entered into a professional services agreement with J. Volk Consulting in May 2016 for the North Main Street Water Line Improvements Project.  This project is included in the 5 year Capital Improvements Program schedule and will replace an old undersized water line on the west side of US 377 between Keller Hicks Road and Johnson Road.  A detailed survey of the proposed alignment revealed a crowded parkway full of existing utilities.  The proposed easement will eliminate the need for cost prohibitive and time consuming franchise utility relocation.

Budget Impact:

Funding is available in the Water and Wastewater CIP Fund for Engineering/Design services. Amendment Number 1 for $3,250.00 increases the original $47,300.00 contract with J. Volk Consulting by 6.87%.  The amended contract for J. Volk Consulting is $50,550.00.

Financial Considerations:

Future years construction cost and funding source is to be determined. FY18 budget reflects $150,000 in the Water and Wastewater CIP funds for construction.
