Action Requested:

Consider a resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute a Service Plan with Physio-Control, Inc. for the maintenance and service of equipment for the Fire Department.

Background:

The City of Keller utilizes equipment manufactured by Physio-Control, Inc. including Cardiac Monitors, and Automatic External Defibrillators.

Due to the complexity and high cost of these specialized pieces of equipment, the department has Technical Service Support Agreements in place for routine maintenance, service, and repairs. When units are purchased new they come with a one (1)-year warranty period and are placed on a Service Plan when the warranty period expires.

The purpose of this Service Plan is to renew the existing Technical Service Support Agreement Addendum Plan which expires September 30, 2017. The new Service Plan will take affect October 1, 2017 and is for a four-year period from October 1, 2017 to September 30, 2021. This Agreement is not automatically renewing.

Budget Impact:

Funding is available in the Fire Department Emergency Medical Service fiscal year 2018 budget in the amount of $16,620.00 for medical equipment maintenance.

Financial Considerations:

The Service Plan will have an overall cost of $ 60,991.20. This will be paid over the four year period of the Service Plan with annual payments of $ 15,247.80.

Physio-Control is the manufacturer of the product and is the sole provider for service agreements related to the equipment
