Presentation - Distinguished Budget Award
The City of Keller Finance Department has earned its 21st consecutive Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) of the United States and Canada for the Fiscal Year 2016-17 budget document.
In order to receive each year’s award, the budget must satisfy a fairly rigorous checklist of nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation as 1) a policy document, 2) a financial plan, 3) an operations guide, and 4) a communications device. The document must be rated proficient by at least two of three reviewers in all four of these categories and in all mandatory specific criteria.
As GFOA stated in their October 5, 2017 press release on the award, “the award represents a significant achievement by the entity. It reflects the commitment of the governing body and staff to meet the highest principles of governmental budgeting.”
