Action Requested:
Consider a resolution of the City Council of the City of Keller, Texas, approving a proposal for Third-Party Inspection Services for the Community Development Department with Countywide Inspection Services, of Graham, Texas, relating to third-party permit inspections, in an amount not to exceed $120,000.000 and upon approval, crafting the appropriate agreement documentation; and authorizing the city manager to execute said agreement on behalf of the City of Keller, Texas.
Background:
In the effort to best provide for the efficient delivery of services, the City currently utilizes a qualified third-party contractor for select, permitted commercial and residential inspections. The City has used third-party inspection services in some form for approximately fifteen years. The City currently has a relationship with Countywide Inspection Services as that company has successfully performed inspections in various iterations since 2013.
On Monday, March 12, 2018, RFP’s were opened with the qualifying proposals being from Countywide Inspection Services, of Graham, Texas and Bureau Veritas North America, Inc., of Plano, Texas. Below are the qualifying proposals:
Bureau Veritas North America, Inc. $134,589.50
Countywide Inspection Services $120,000.00
The lowest, most responsive overall proposal was from Countywide Inspection Services, Graham, Texas.
Budget Impact:
Third-Party Inspection Services are funded through the Community Development Department’s Building and Construction Services Division Fiscal Year 2017-18 Annual Operating Budget.
